One Roof, Countless Connections: Community at Its Core

who we are

Bringing Community Together Under One Roof

Community centers play a pivotal role in fostering social connections, promoting learning, and building neighborly relationships.

For 60+ years, our community has offered a cherished, secure space, uniting families and enhancing lives in Whitecroft and beyond.
Located just south of Sherwood Park, our hidden gem boasts a ball diamond, sports court, playground, community garden, and a modern event facility. The hall was rebuilt in 2001 following a 1999 fire.

Now, more than ever, we must unite as a community. We’re dedicated to offering a safe, welcoming, and inspiring space where everyone thrives.

Goals

Our Mission

We provide a place for the community to connect and socialize. Our facility includes Event Hall, Playground, Ball Diamond, Sports Court. In the winter skating rink, warming shack, and sledding hill.

  • There are many reasons why people volunteer. Some want the opportunity to give back and do great things (kindness is good for our health, after all). Others require a break from day-to-day life and find solace in volunteering. There are always new people to meet, new skills to learn and activities to take part in. Connect with us for a chance to build your confidence and feel part of a team.
  • Our community centre brings people together to work on various projects over the years, such as organizing clean-ups or working on improving the property.

  • You are not alone! Studies show almost a fifth of the population feel lonely always or often. Having a place to visit regularly is vital for many people. It provides routine, something to look forward to and new opportunities. Connect with us!

  • The next generation needs our help! Youth must have a safe space to visit and take part in new activities. Giving the younger generation a healthy outlet for their energy will prevent anti-social behaviour and nurture the individual’s most positive attributes instead.

  • Get up, get fit. Prioritizing physical fitness is key, but not everyone wants to join a gym or go to a demanding sports class. Socializing as at the heart of everything we do – making fitness fun. Join us for Zumba!

  • Community centres develop a culture of wellbeing across social, mental and physical health. This will improve the overall health of the community, taking pressure off social services and other facilities.

  • Individuals often find hiring facilities prohibitively costly. People are able to organize social and family events by hiring out community centre spaces. Other voluntary groups and organizations are also able to hire out space on a more regular, consistent basis. This service is invaluable for people who want to organize social activities and need a base in which to do this. Yet again, community centres prove invaluable.

TESTIMONIALS

What People Say

Well kept, a neat, quiet environment, a nice playground and tennis/basketball court for kids/adults, and a gazebo. Booking and interactions with the hall renter coordinator (Gigi) were smooth and superb.

We held a Thanksgiving family reunion here. Gigi was amazing and helped us tremendously, even with the short notice. The kitchen was great, and the hall was clean and welcoming. We look forward to coming back.

Clean, and well-set up. The kitchen and amenities had everything we needed. It’s a nice little setup for a community hall, and I would definitely recommend it for weddings, gatherings, or other big events!
